Discover How OUR MISSION AND VISION Expert Guidance Our vision is to help leaders make better financial decisions in an uncertain world. Our mission is to transform uncertainty into clarity by building forward-looking, scenario-based financial models that reveal how today’s decisions perform across multiple possible futures. By combining strategic thinking with financial rigor, we support management teams in evaluating risks, trade-offs, and opportunities—so decisions are made with confidence, insight, and intent rather than assumption. About Us Turning Uncertainty into Advantage The Reality Most Financial Decisions Assume One Future Budgets, forecasts, and investment decisions are often built around a single set of assumptions. But in an uncertain environment, one future is rarely enough. When reality deviates, decisions that once looked optimal can quickly become risks. The Shift Uncertainty Is Not the Enemy — Blindness Is Uncertainty cannot be eliminated, but it can be modeled. What matters is not predicting the future, but understanding how decisions behave across different possible futures. Our Approach Strategic Financial Forecasting At Stratagem Forecasting, we work with management teams to build scenario-based, forward-looking financial models that: Reveal how key decisions perform under different futures Quantify risks, trade-offs, and upside potential Translate uncertainty into clear, comparable decision options Who It's For Empowering decision-makers with strategic financial insights tailored to their unique needs and challenges. Strategic Enabling CEOs to make informed decisions on strategic trade-offs to drive sustainable growth and profitability. Risk Management Supporting CFOs in effectively managing financial risk, optimizing liquidity, and allocating capital efficiently. Long-Term Vision Assisting boards in evaluating and planning for long-term outcomes amidst market uncertainties and evolving landscapes. PHILOSOPHY The objective is not prediction. The objective is clarity — so decisions remain deliberate, resilient, and well-timed even as conditions evolve. Philosophy Principal's Perspective Led by experience, not theory The principal’s perspective is shaped by decades of hands-on experience at the intersection of finance, risk, and strategic decision-making. It is grounded in the belief that most consequential financial decisions are not problems of precision, but of judgment — made under conditions of uncertainty, incomplete information, and irreversible commitment. Rather than treating financial models as tools for prediction or point estimates, this perspective views modeling as a measurement framework for decisions. Just as instruments such as thermometers or barometers do not forecast the future but help us understand conditions, financial models are used to measure how decisions behave across alternative scenarios. Their purpose is not to declare what will happen, but to reveal what could happen — and with what consequences. From this viewpoint, the central question is rarely “What is the most likely outcome?” and more often “How does this decision perform across different futures?” By examining a range of plausible scenarios, this approach makes trade-offs visible, clarifies downside exposure, and highlights the structural sensitivities embedded within strategic choices. In doing so, it enables decision-makers to move beyond single-path thinking and toward a more robust understanding of risk and resilience. This perspective also reflects the conviction that financial insight gains its true value only at the point of decision. Models and analyses are not ends in themselves; they are instruments that support clearer thinking, better governance, and more disciplined capital allocation. When used properly, they help leaders distinguish between risks that can be managed, uncertainties that must be accepted, and assumptions that deserve to be challenged. Ultimately, the principal’s perspective is not about forecasting the future, but about preparing for it. It emphasizes robustness over optimization, clarity over complexity, and judgment over mechanical precision. The aim is to support strategic choices that remain defensible across a range of outcomes — enabling organizations to act with confidence, even when the future cannot be known. - About Us | Stratagem Forecast
About Us Most financial decisions are made with one future in mind. In reality, businesses operate across multiple possible futures. Stratagem Financial Forecasting Systems was founded to help leadership teams understand how today’s financial decisions perform under different scenarios — not just the most likely one. The firm is led by Ferdi Fatih Sever, who brings over twenty-five years of experience in corporate finance, treasury management, and financial risk management. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with executive teams navigating complex and uncertain decision environments. Over time, a consistent pattern emerged: many decisions were supported by solid analysis, yet built around a single set of assumptions. When market conditions, costs, interest rates, or demand changed, the decisions themselves were not necessarily wrong — they were simply not prepared for alternative outcomes. Stratagem addresses this gap by developing forward-looking financial models that translate uncertainty into structured decision options. These models make risks, trade-offs, and second-order effects explicit, enabling leaders to act deliberately and with clarity. The objective is not prediction. It is clarity — so decisions remain resilient, even when the future is uncertain. FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL Ferdi Fatih SEVER Stratagem Financial Forecasting Systems is led by Ferdi Fatih Sever, a financial professional with more than twenty years of experience across corporate treasury, financial risk management, corporate finance, and executive leadership in complex, capital-intensive organizations. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of finance, risk, and strategy — advising senior management and boards on decisions where outcomes depend not only on analysis, but on structure, timing, and resilience under uncertainty. His experience spans aerospace and defense, telecommunications, aviation, agriculture, petrochemicals, and government-related institutions. A consistent focus of his work has been building financial frameworks designed to remain robust as conditions change. He has led treasury and corporate finance functions responsible for liquidity planning, funding strategies, capital market transactions, and enterprise-level financial risk governance. This has included establishing treasury front- and mid-office structures, formalizing treasury and risk policies, and introducing disciplined forecasting and hedging frameworks where none previously existed. In senior leadership roles, including board-level and general management positions, he has been directly accountable for financial restructuring, operational efficiency, and performance recovery. His work has included turning around loss-making operations, materially improving capacity utilization and operating margins, and supporting sustained revenue growth through tighter financial control and capital allocation discipline. A substantial part of his career has focused on financial risk management and complex financial transactions. He has managed foreign exchange, interest rate, commodity, and credit risk exposures; designed and executed dynamic hedging strategies; negotiated ISDA agreements; and overseen large-scale debt portfolios. Earlier in his career, he was closely involved in aircraft financing and fleet-related transactions, including sale-and-leaseback structures and multi-billion-dollar funding arrangements, supporting both commercial negotiations and lender due diligence. His work has also included the development of financial models, analytical tools, and decision-support systems — from cash-flow forecasting frameworks used in funding decisions to loan evaluation software and financial training programs developed for public-sector institutions. Across these efforts, the objective has been consistent: to make financial risk, trade-offs, and long-term consequences explicit to decision-makers. Mr. Sever holds a Master of Engineering in Financial Engineering from Cornell University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Mathematics, providing a rigorous analytical foundation for his work in financial modeling and risk analysis. Stratagem reflects the professional focus shaped by this career: helping leaders move beyond single-scenario thinking by showing how financial decisions perform across multiple possible futures. The objective is not prediction, but clarity — so decisions remain deliberate, resilient, and well-timed as conditions evolve. - Solutions (Services) | Stratagem Forecast
Services Decision support for complex financial choices Stratagem provides strategic financial forecasting and decision support for leaders facing material, high-impact decisions under uncertainty. The focus of our work is not on producing a single forecast, but on understanding how financial decisions perform across different future conditions. Scenario-Based Financial Forecasting We develop forward-looking financial analyses that evaluate outcomes across multiple, explicitly defined scenarios. Rather than relying on a single set of assumptions, our work examines how results change as conditions evolve. This approach is commonly applied to long-term planning, investment decisions, business model assessment, and situations where demand, costs, or external conditions are uncertain. The objective is to identify downside exposure, upside potential, and key inflection points that materially affect outcomes. Decision-Focused Financial Modeling We build custom financial models structured around choices, trade-offs, and sensitivities — not static projections. These models are designed to compare alternative courses of action, evaluate timing and structure, and make second-order effects visible. Typical applications include go-or-no-go decisions, financing alternatives, growth strategies, restructuring scenarios, and other decisions where paths diverge over time. The result is a clearer understanding of how different decisions perform under varying conditions. Financial Risk and Exposure Analysis Stratagem helps organizations identify and structure financial risks that materially influence outcomes. This includes analysis of liquidity and funding risk, foreign exchange and interest rate exposure, capital structure resilience, and the alignment of strategy with financial risk appetite. Where appropriate, this work supports the design of policies, frameworks, and decision rules that bring consistency and discipline to financial risk management. The aim is not to eliminate risk, but to make it explicit and manageable. Executive and Board-Level Decision Support Complex analysis is only valuable if it supports clear decisions. Stratagem translates financial models and scenario analysis into decision-ready outputs designed for senior management and boards. This includes structured materials for executive discussions, investment committees, and board reviews, as well as independent second-view analysis on critical decisions. The emphasis is on clarity without oversimplification.
